HOMESTEAD GIVEAWAY ENDS IN ...!

Diesel Dave: Who is he?

Diesel Dave: Who is he?

You know me as Diesel Dave where many know me as Kiley, Dave, Twink, and if you really know me, Twink Master Flex!  Yes I get it there are a lot of names that I have gotten over the years but the best name I have ever received is Dad.  But hey we aren’t gonna get all mushy quite yet.

I was born in Texas and moved around a lot in my adolescence.  My father worked on bases and so we traveled a bit around the country until my parents settled in a town north of Salt Lake City, UT.  That’s where I have spent the majority of my life to this point.

When I was in my late teens and early twenties I decided to serve a proselytizing mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  This meant that I left my family for 2 years to go live in Portugal on my own and support myself as I spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I’ve got to tell you that I wouldn’t change this at all.  I learned Portuguese, met amazing people, shared a message I believe in, and just absolutely loved every moment about it.

After returning to Utah I started hanging with old friends again and going to church that was specific for young single adults like me.  Typically in these congregations young men meet young women to date and go from there.  Well this is where I actually met my brother from another mother, Heavy D Sparks.  It was bros at first sight.  His crazy matches my crazy and we both were destined to be friends and more than that, brothers.

Now we weren’t the Diesel Brothers right away.  We were landscape brothers.  Bunker selling brothers. Used car salesman brothers.  And hiatus brothers.  But I’m gonna tell you a little something before I get into the Diesel Brothers.

At one point in my twenties two of my best friends, Brian Alphin and Jim Anderson, decided we would fly down to Brazil and hangout a little bit.  Benefits, we all speak portuguese, we all wanted to have fun, we all just decided to go.  We all went, we all saw, we all conquered, and we all realized we needed more adventure in our lives.  I will tell you the full story in another post but I will tease you with this. We purchased motorcycles and rode them from Sao Paulo Brazil to Salt Lake City, UT USA!!!!

Ok after this I was driving truck, installing siding on military contracts, running corporate errands for friends.  Really no direction, just enjoying life as it came.  That’s when my brother called me up to come work with him again.

Heavy D and I started to market one of our first websites, www.dieselsellerz.com ,and came up with an idea to give away a truck to drive traffic to the site.  He and I did our first DIY fabrication in a small shop with our high school welding skills and not all the correct equipment in the worked as it should hahah.  But we built our first truck and then sold rubber wristbands for people to get entered to win.  In addition to that we were posting videos on Facebook and Youtube of our funny scenarios and pranks we pulled on eachother.  Well all I can say is both were an absolute success.  The giveaway brought a ton of traffic and opened up a new marketing form for us.  The pranks were so funny that I actually went onto the Jay Leno Show to show what we were doing!!  Sooner than later we were contacted by Discovery to film a show.

We did not accept the Discovery Offer right away.  We actually pushed it off for 6 months because we thought it was a scam.  They finally convinced us to film a pilot and from there the rest was history.

I’m gonna leave this right here and let you know more about the show, my favorite builds, and some of my passions in future posts.
